Well, I'm a fat older American guy. lol.
It is more about stability than riches though. She tells me too many guys her age are still figuring out what they want to be when they grow up. I'm pretty much all grown up.

I believe based on my experiences traveling around the world over the past 30 years that very good communication skills, a good sense of humor and ability to ask questions can go a long way. Either in personal life or business life. I dated a lot of girls from all over the world and the ability to communicate well can really help dating.

Many females have dated losers their entire lives. Guys that might have spent all their time at the gym and have good bodies or look good but are total losers or zeros. Guys that don't know how to take care of a female. This might be ok for when a female is younger but maybe of the bright ones figure out that there is more to life than that. Stability and being with a good person is very important. Also, I've found based on my experience with friends dating younger wives or girlfriends is when the women are close to settling down or having kids, it's important to them to have a good stable man that will be a good father to raise their kids together.

I don't really look at age, older, fatter, etc. I take a look how the guy is treating the female and typically the guy is doing a good job taking care of the female. But I'm not deluded into believing that the minute the guy doesn't take good care of the female she will find another guy.

I always joke a smart and beautiful female is the most powerful person in this world because they can get just about whatever they want. So odds are when you see a mismatch on age, etc. and it has lasted a good amount of time, it's because the female is smart and she is with a man that knows how to take care of her.

Typically the only group I see bitter or angry are either the girls ex-boyfriend/husband or older women that are envious. Age is just a number.

This is actually true. Most guys are bozos today. They can't talk to girls. You would be surprised! Here in Spain many guys are still living with their parents. And in the United States some guys expect you to split the check with them!

I don't have any problems with an older male dating a younger female. Personally I don't think I would ever do that but I guess you never know! If I am still single in a few years I might be one of these girls! I guess as I get closer to my expiration date I might have less options.

That is funny. Actually here in the US I think too many females have this notion of the perfect guy and holding out hope and then they get older. I have a lot of female friends that think they are going to find the perfect guy and waited too long. All they did was party when they were younger and now it's too late for them. I am not saying this is your situation Jenn.

Agree @FuturoBA! A few of my nieces seem like they are a magnet to these losers. They somehow always find these guys. I guess it is ok if they do it earlier in life but I have found these guys have very little to offer once you're ready to settle down. I don't know what is wrong with these girls. When I was younger we wanted to date guys with ambition, good track and potential. This generation doesn't seem to care. Only think about today.

Well I think in many places there is a lot of "Peter Pan" syndrome with guys not wanting to grow up. I live in San Diego and it's always amazing to see just how many 40-50 year old guys there are living in their vans just wanting to surf every morning. Many guys think they will be young forever. I think there used to be more ambition previously with males. Now many people live for today and not really thinking about tomorrow.

I see fewer and fewer people having kids too which is sad to see but can understand it from a cost of living perspective.

I don't think females have an expiration date. It is sad when they think they do. My mother in law is a young 65 years old and divorced and thinks she has hit her expiration date and refuses to date. So she is just alone and I think it is sad and the wrong way to think about it.

Change where you're looking if all the guys you meet are losers. Plenty of successful, good guys out there that are in less obvious places.

I wouldn't say a girl hits expiration date, but if a guy is looking to start his own family he's going to be looking for someone under 30 esp if he wants multiple kids considering over 35 is considered geriatric pregnancy. Not all guys and some are fine with dating and marrying older women, but talking more so in generalities.

Totally agree. I have too many girlfriends that are always complaining about the men they date. True about men and wanting a family. My sister is in her late 30's and I joke with her @FuturoBA that she is considered high risk. She is still hoping to find the one but realistically she only has a year or two left. Considering you have to date a while before having kids.

I don't blame men for dating younger if they want kids but I don't know too many that want kids now.
