Medical If COVID comes back and mutates into something else will you get another vaccinated against it?

@StatusNomadicus - We should start another thread, please define Peronism.

A friend once said to me it was a cross between extreme leftist Maoism and the social policies of the 'wonderful' Generalissimo Francisco Franco , el Caudillo of Spain

good analysis on the psychology of why Fascism (and thus Peronism) requires a religion-cult to operate

@GlasgowJohn for Peronists, it's everything they like, and it's not anything that is bad.

Peronism is easily defined as one more sect of Totalitarianism - the flavor is a little different, but individual liberty and free markets are rejected. Peron insisted it was an alternative to Communism and Capitalism, but he just made that up.

for those wanting Early Treament of COVID strains, the top cardiologist Peter McCullough has provided his protocol for years, free to anyone. if you're very unhealthy with high bodyfat, smoker, hear disease, high blood pressure, diabetes type2, etc., just ask your Doc if they will treat you upon first sign of infection, rather than waiting until you can't breathe:

First COVID case for 2024 in Salta. Go get vaccinated.

First death in Salta from COVID in 2024: experts warn the importance of reinforcing vaccination. The General Director of Epidemiological Coordination of Salta, Dr. Francisco García Campos explained to Infobae : “We were surprised by the increase in cases. We had 89 in a single week. Since February 2023 we had between 20 to .30 cases per week, according to our Epidemiological Bulletin that we continue to prepare weekly.” The person who died is a 40-year-old man. “He had 4 doses of the vaccine and underlying diseases. He entered the hospital in an advanced state of the respiratory process and died a few hours later,” said García Campos, who confirmed that there are currently 7 patients hospitalized in Salta....In addition to Salta, there is an increase in the number of cases in the NOA. An example is Jujuy, which registers 711 affected people, as reported on Tuesday by the province's Ministry of Health. Likewise, they clarified that only two people are hospitalized....

....In a recent note in Infobae, Dr. Ricardo Teijeiro (MN 58065), infectologist at the Pirovano Hospital and member of the Argentine Society of Infectology (SADI), expressed: “There is an increase in cases. For now, we see that the usual variants are circulating, but with a significant and quite important increase for this time of year in cases that are not serious. It is expected that, come autumn and winter, we will have greater circulation and that the variants that are in the northern hemisphere will also begin to circulate"....“The current concept of COVID vaccination booster has nothing to do with the number of previous doses, because it is very common to hear that 'they say I have five doses, I have six doses.' What matters now is knowing when the last dose was, if a long time has passed there is less probability that the vaccine will protect you against severe forms. So going back to the beginning, it is very likely that as cases increase, we will begin to see some complications with hospitalization, as we are already seeing, and eventual mortality of patients with risk factors.”

Covid-19: cases and the number of patients in intensive care rooms increased. According to official statistics, in December there were 70 daily cases on average and now there are 472. The increase in infections, both globally and nationally, is linked to subvariant JN.1....

The infectious disease doctor Martín Hojman, who works at the Rivadavia Hospital in the City of BA, pointed out that "we have indeed experienced an increase in hospitalization of Covid cases in the last two and three weeks in addition to having a percentage of positivity of much higher diagnostic methods than usual. The specialist described that, however, "the vast majority of people go through the infection with mild symptoms such as sore throat, cold and some cough"....The Health Ministry maintains that high-risk people (50 years or older, pregnant and immunocompromised) should receive booster doses every 6 months, while for low-risk people (between 6 months and 49 years inclusive, without comorbidities) the booster dose should be every 12 months....

Some pharmacies in Buenos Aires are selling the self administered test. The results come back instantly.
Or you can call #147 to inquire where Buenos Aires you can be tested for free. It takes 3-4 days to get the results back.

People should consider getting the booster. Experts are recommend to get it. First death in Salta from COVID in 2024. I hope we don't have another issue.

From transmission to symptoms: 7 keys to the JN.1 subvariant of COVID....Globally, JN.1 is currently the most circulating subvariant of interest and has been reported by 71 countries, as reported by the World Health Organization (WHO). It has been detected in Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, and Peru, among other Latin American countries....

JN.1 appears to be highly contagious, perhaps more so than any other member of the Omicron family, said William Schaffner, a professor of infectious diseases and health policy at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine....Consulted by Infobae, Dr. Humberto Debat, virology researcher at Conicet and the National Institute of Agricultural Technology , commented: “The JN.1 subvariant is the one that is becoming predominant in the world. It is related to the chronology of infections, the immunological status of the population and a low frequency of application of booster doses of vaccines. This facilitates the possibility of new infections.”

As reported by the Ministry of Health of the Nation in Argentina, on January 17, 2 confirmed cases of the BA.2.86 subvariant (with residence in the province of Santa Cruz) and 6 cases of the JN.1 subvariant were detected. Two of these patients reside in the City of Buenos Aires, 1 in Chaco, 1 in Salta, 1 in Santa Cruz and 1 case in Santa Fe...

What are the symptoms of subvariant JN.1
....They may include fever or chills, cough, feeling short of breath, fatigue, muscle and body aches, headache, new loss of smell or taste, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea. COVID symptoms can last 1 to 4 weeks, but in some cases, recovery can take up to 12 weeks. If symptoms last more than 12 weeks, long COVID may have developed. Wear a mask. “From the day the COVID symptoms begin, affected people should isolate themselves for 5 days so as not to transmit the pathogen to other people,” said Javier Farina , doctor and member of the Argentine Society of Infectious Diseases (SADI) in dialogue with Infobae..

I heard that the hospitals in CABA are seeing a sharp increase in the number of COVID cases again. Anyone know where I can get a booster?
You can look where you can get a booster here -

Do you really want to get another dose? I realize during Covid we didn't know much about the vaccine but I have a lot of friends who got mysterious ailments after getting the vaccine. No way I would get another dose. But good luck to you.

I agree. I think you would need to be brain dead to get another dose. Most doctors I know have told me NOT to get another dose.

My cousin is a physician there in Buenos Aires and he is the one that mentioned it to me. I don't have any specific numbers. He just mentioned that the other day and I am heading in town. Does anyone think we will see the lockdowns like before if so?
I really doubt that there will be another lockdown.

There would be an uprising.....

Hi there. I don't think it will get to that, at all.

My husband and I got COVID in mid-February 2020 (the week we went to a Korean market in SoCal, that's were we contracted the virus). We both received four vaccine shots in the US. Last December we got COVID again, here, in CABA and had exactly the same symptoms as in 2020. No idea where we contracted the virus this time. We still disinfect everything we bring home and carry alcohol in an atomizer when we leave the house.

Last year we lived in Mexico City for several months. There was a lot of COVID there. Can't say for sure if we contracted the virus, but we didn't feel well for a couple of weeks, last January, when lots of people were reporting flu-like symptoms.

We also got Covid a few times. We will NOT be getting anymore doses of the vaccine.

I agree about uprising. The last lockdown was brutal and we got stuck here but I think if Argentina tried locking down again we would definitely get on a flight and go to the USA this time.
This government wouldn't lock the country down. Milei has criticized Covid lockdown, he saw it as "emblematic of the state’s tyrannical overreach."
