President Javier Milei will have an intense agenda in New York
President Javier Milei will leave tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. for New York to participate in his first United Nations General Assembly and carry out an intense agenda of activities and meetings, including a new meeting with the tycoon Elon Musk and a presence at the Stock Exchange in that American city.
According to presidential spokesman Manuel Adorni, the president will depart on a special flight to New York City on Saturday, arriving at 8 p.m. (Argentine time). He will travel with Secretary General Karina Milei and Ministers Luis “Toto” Caputo, of the Economy, and Patricia Bullrich, of Security, who will be joined by Foreign Minister Diana Mondino. They will be received by Argentine ambassador Gerardo Werthein, who played a key role in the president’s activities.
On Sunday, at 8 p.m., he will meet with journalists from The New York Times at the headquarters of the American newspaper. On Monday, at 9 a.m. (always Argentine time), he will speak to investors and participate in the opening of trading at the New York Stock Exchange, the stock exchange with the largest market capitalization in the world, where he will also ring the traditional bell that indicates the start of operations. Shortly afterwards, at 12:30 p.m., the president will meet with the head of Tesla, Elon Musk.

The tycoon has already been seen in Texas, at the Tesla plant, and in Los Angeles, at a meeting of the Milken Institute. The new meeting will take place in a unique context, due to the confrontation between the owner of X and the president of Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva, with crossed accusations.
Returning to the presidential agenda, Milei will have a meeting with the Council on Foreign Relations of the United States on Monday at 4:45 p.m., where she will speak for 10 minutes.
On Tuesday, at 2 p.m., he will have a meeting with Google's Vice President for Global Policy and Government Affairs, Karan Bhatia, and then, at 4:30 p.m., he will speak at the General Debate of the 79th United Nations General Assembly. According to Infobae , it is not yet confirmed that there will be formal contacts with the White House or the IMF. In fact, the host country is organizing a cocktail party for Monday afternoon, after the speeches by the UN Secretary General, António Guterres, and Biden, but Milei has not yet confirmed whether she will go. "It will be an institutional visit to the UN," said those close to the head of state.
Until Friday, what has transpired from the President's speech to the UN is that it will be a critical message about the role of international organizations vis-à-vis States and also against initiatives such as Agenda 2030, which is especially questioned by the Government. The president does not believe in the objectives framed in that program, which include the promotion of gender equality and the fight against climate change. And he believes that the interventions of multilateral organizations should be limited to credit relations. He would balance this position with a direct allusion to the "subjugation" that China supposedly exerts over the organization, which would represent a nod to the interests of the United States in Latin America.
At the end of the activities in New York, the national government confirmed that during the course of Tuesday afternoon, the president will have two bilateral meetings: at 6 p.m. with the President of the Republic of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, and at 6:30 p.m. with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. On the same day, at 10 p.m., the flight that will take President Milei back to Argentina is scheduled to depart, where he will arrive at 7 a.m. on Wednesday.
