Love Advice - Fell in love with an escort in Buenos Aires - Is it real love?

I don't know how I missed this thread! Just read all the posts! This is crazy! You are an attorney and should know better. If someone came to you asking for advice you would have definitely told them not to try this. I'm sorry it didn't work out but you should have known! I would love to know the back story how and why you hired a private detective!
Me too. I never saw this as I never looked in the Love section. Crazy crazy!

Agree that whether she was an escort or not, it still could happen. I think you fell for her too fast, you didn't see some of the red flags earlier. Emotions, especially strong ones tend to blind us, and love can be one of the strongest. Be grateful you didn't buy that apartment for her and that you're getting out now vs how much pain later it would have been. Nothing we say will relieve the pain, but time will make it better. And if you're still interested in BA, it has the most therapists per capita to talk to.

Heart breaks happen to the best of us. Good luck on your recovery.
I agree with you @FuturoBA. I think it's kind of a moot point about her being a former escort. People cheat all the time. I'm not clear if that is what happened. Would love more details @fool in love. Did the P.I. have proof that she was seeing him? What was her side of the story? At least you wised up before you were too deep in. Sometimes women make men think with their little heads instead of their big ones!

Thanks to everyone who commented. @FuturoBA I did fall too hard too fast. I saw some of the red flags and analyzed them. Lots of emotions from my wife's death and just being alone. She has made attempts to explain it away of ending it with her ex which is maybe true. Thanks for the suggestion of a therapist. One of the forum members was kind enough to PM me his that is excellent!

Now, I'm trying to figure out if there is any chance of reconciliation. She is trying hard. I'll see how it goes.

Just finished watching this collaboration between two of my favorite relationship channels and may not be completely applicable to your situation, but intriguing none the less. They're a breath of fresh air from the many that plague the space.

That was excellent. Thanks for sharing @FuturoBA. Good stuff. I can't believe I watched the entire thing but was good at 1.5X speed. :)

Lol I watch everything at minimum 1.5x speed now where I can't go back to native. And the PsychHacks guy, Orion, don't think he touched on it in this video but was mind opening with his concept of the adorer vs the adored. Two lovers can't love each other the exact same amount and there's always one who loves the other more than than the other loves them. There's pros to cons to each but Orion argues in a hetero relationship you want the woman to be the adorer and the man to be the adored.

Yes, crazy but I didn't even know you could watch YouTube videos at 1.5X speed until last year. I am like you @FuturoBA where I can't watch any at all less than that. Some people speak very slowly. It saves me a ton of time. I'm going to watch that last video. Interesting points.

I even went so far as to get a browser extension so I could change the speed past the 2x limit of youtube up to 3.5-4x. It's not bc I'm crazy I assure you, but it's when I watch walking tour videos which move way too slow. :)

Of course, I use one called -Video Speed Controller- and do almost all of my watching on a chrome browser. It may be available on other platforms and what I like about it is it does 1/10 increments so as to have more control.
Thanks for this tip. It has changed my browsing experience!

@fool in love any updates with your girlfriend. Did you ever forgive her?
