Wow 1225 for the official? It's only at 975 now so that is a bit difference for only the end of the year. I wonder what they estimate the blue will be? This matches what my girlfriend's family keeps saying that the peso is way overvalued. But it sounds like the only way that it could go to 1225 is if there is some devaluation?JP Morgan just forecasted the official rate to be 1,225 to $1 USD by the end of this year and by the end of the 2nd quarter 2025 for it to be 1,550 pesos to $1. No one knows what the exchange rate will be once they finally end the CEPO but the market always figures out true value when the rate isn't being manipulated in any way.
It is much more expensive now vs. last year this time. I wonder if it will get cheaper again next year. If the official is 1550 to $1 by next year that would help. I gave up on trying to predict what will happen. The best thing you can do is just enjoy no matter what the exchange rate is.
