Money matters are a bit complicated in Argentina and there are many different exchange rates but the key exchange rate to note is the "Blue Dollar" rate. You can always see the Blue Dollar rate at this website: https://www.ambito.com/contenidos/dolar.html
There is an official rate that no one really uses and there is a "Blue" market where you can get the best exchange rate. If you bring cash here you will get the best rate. Bring brand new US $100 bills as you will get the best exchange rate. Lower bills get a lower exchange rate. If you use your credit card you will get a good exchange rate typically about 10% less than the Dolar Turista rate.
Recoleta:
You can exchange money at Pueyrredon 1687 (there is a store and you tell them you want to exchange money and they will buzz a door and let you into a back room to exchange.
Pueyrredon 1921 - Just buzz the door and he will let you in.
Palermo Soho:
Serrano 1563 in Plaza Serrano
Monday to Friday: 10 AM to 6 PM
Saturday: 10 AM to 5 PM
Sunday: 12 PM to 5 PM
People can feel free to post their own places they have verified. I've been using these places above for years.
