I knew that the start of a new semester at UBA is always chaotic, but I never imagined it would be this bad. That’s why it’s so important to address this situation. The classrooms are overcrowded, and there should be a better registration system. I remember a local friend who studied at the National University of La Plata always complained because there was only one registration date for everyone, both Argentine residents and foreign students. She always said that Argentine students should have priority, and once a quota is reached, a second registration period should open for foreigners. This example clearly shows that they have exceeded the number of students. How is it possible that people are sitting on the floor? This is a recurring issue every time classes start.

This might be the only country in the world where the psychology program is so overcrowded. With the start of the semester, the situation has become so extreme that there are even students sitting on the floor! The lack of space and proper facilities is a clear sign of how overwhelmed the system is. Urgent improvements are needed; this situation only discourages students.

This country must be unique in having such a high number of students enrolled in psychology programs. I’ve heard that therapy is very common here, sometimes not for a specific problem but as part of people's routines. There might be a lot of people in need, or perhaps this profession is very well-paid 🫨. Whatever the reason, there must be something driving this high demand.

Wow, I just found out that Argentina has the most psychologists in the world! And Buenos Aires is the most psychoanalyzed city on the planet. Now it makes more sense why there are so many enrollments.
