Travel Travellers to be quarantined on arrival

It's not exactly a quarantine. they are telling you to stay home.
I assume they will take your address and relevant information. The police where you live would presumably be informed and would check on you as they do in China. The building administration would know and report you if you leave. Such a law will generate tremendous xenophobia. It would be far simpler to ban all flights from the most affected countries (strangely the UK is not on the list!) or anyone who has been in them. It goes without saying that this draconian law and its consequences have not been thought out. People are going to arrive at Ezeiza and be informed that they have to go into quarantine. People on business will be among them. Will they be allowed to board the next flight home? How can you survive since you have to be ALONE? If you have a spouse do you have to find another place to live? Will you be escorted in an ambulance to your home or some government isolation camp? There are a million unanswered questions. What a reckless decision this was.

Let's see how this plays out tomorrow with the first wave of tourists arriving to Buenos Aires. It sounds like it will be chaotic if they implement it as this says they will. The right hand never knows what the left hand is doing so I can't imagine this will go over too well. Lots of people have no clue about this. I wonder if they will have the option to immediately leave Argentina and opt not to enter? How will that work?

This is horseshit. How do they actually plan to enforce this? If they were serious about preventing the spread of the virus they would ban the flights from landing in the country.

Another typical poorly thought out argentine rule.

Exactly. I don't know how they would even try to enforce this. Or imagine the notification/communication system or even trying to enforce or check in the people getting quarantined. Let's see tomorrow what kind of paperwork is involved upon arriving to EZE. And go from there. But I talked to one of my friends that owns a short-term rental agency and she said it's chaos already as lots of people cancelling their reservations today but I'm wondering how they even found out about this.

Are the airlines notifying people proactively?

I answered the question about leaving. A friend called his lawyer who researched it. He said that passengers arriving will NOT be allowed to return for two weeks.

That is exactly what I said. Ban the flights but by allowing them passengers get stuck with the cost of the flight and then the cost of two weeks internment somewhere -- a hotel for many (and you know that the hotel will charge the maximum possible). Can you imagine the desperate calls to embassies!

I think people are cancelling because they are afraid of flying. I checked with friends who have flights back to Argentina. They haven't received any notice about this policy.

I hope it does not become like this here :-

Reports of a rise in anti-foreigner sentiment revolving around the announcement of COVID-19 in Ethiopia. Reports indicate that foreigners have been attacked with stones, denied transportation services, spat on, chased on foot, and accused of being infected with COVID-19.

i have no problems with them being deported. follow the rules, or suffer the consequences.

if you didn't want to be in quarantine you should have modified your travel plans.

What a nightmare. You should note if you have an Airbnb rental (owner or tenant) almost all buildings are banning foreigners from entering the building. Even if you can show in your passport that you entered Argentina over 14 days ago. I own units in different buildings and they are banning ALL foreigners from entering the building.
