Newcomer What is the most central area to stay in Buneos Aires

I am planning a stay of 6 nights in Buenos Aires in early March. Is there a better more central area to stay?

The consensus among most travelers is to choose accommodations either in Recoleta or Palermo when visiting Buenos Aires. Both neighborhoods are considered relatively upscale residential areas, providing a safe environment with excellent local amenities such as restaurants, cafes, and shops. They offer a wide range of accommodation options, including some high-end choices. Additionally, both areas are well-served by the metro and buses, making them particularly convenient if you plan to take flights from the mainly domestic Aeroparque (AEP), which is just a short drive away.

Some individuals prefer staying in Centro, which boasts slightly better public transport links and proximity to key attractions such as Casa Rosada and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Alternatively, San Telmo is an option—a gritty neighborhood with a distinctive character that is still considered safe. Here, you'll find milongas, markets, good-value restaurants, and bars.

While Recoleta is wonderful and Plaermo is great - and Downtown has its merits - we choose PALERMO BOTANICO (our Porteno friends say that it is a realtor- invented part of Palermo 🙂 as we can easily walk to Palermo Soho and to Recoleta and all those parks in both directions.
