G20 Summit: Argentina signed an agreement to export Vaca Muerta gas to Brazil.

The deal between Argentina and Brazil for the export of shale gas from the Vaca Muerta fields in Patagonia just got signed. Great to see this deal get signed. You're going to see Argentina continue to make deals with many countries. I've always said Argentina is a total unicorn with all it's precious resources.

YPF just keeps going up. I'm glad I never sold it yet!
I bought some a few weeks ago even though it has exploded this year. When you look at all the increase in production it seems like a no brainer even with the increases. I just can't decide when to sell but all my Argentina stocks are up big time.

YPF
VIST
PAM
EDN
TEO

Is anyone invested in any Argentine banking stocks? Anyone know the best one to invest in? Was curious what others are investing in.

Wow! I had no idea Argentine stocks have gone up so much since Milei got elected. Wow. Is it too late? Or is there more upside? I guess CFK must be wealthy from YPF. Doesn't she hold a lot of stock?

There is still a lot of upside. Many of these stocks got beaten down so badly. YPF was over $65 back in 2005 and I think it has more potential now with Milei. I have held on to YPF for over 2 years now and it's gone up almost 400%. I am not selling. I will ride it out. PAM is also a good play with low P/E ratio of 10.

I agree! I bought YPF and PAM and VIST after Milei won the election. Even before he took over. I knew that he would bring tremendous changes to Argentina. Sometimes I think the ticker on my app is broken because it's green every single day! Lots of potential in that industry.

Argentina, the beacon of freedom! At the G20, Argentina, led by Milei, was the only one to stand against proposals that threaten individual freedoms, equality before the law, and free markets.

More leaders should follow this attitude and stand up for what truly matters!

This price increase should be good for the stock price. I bought some YPF 2 months ago and very happy with it. @earlyretirement are you holding for the long term?
Congrats. YPF should be a great investment over the next few years. My strategy (not investment advice) is I am holding for the long haul. I do sell some out of the money covered call options each month to get cash. For example, I bought some more stock at $40 a few weeks ago. I bought 2,300 shares and then I turned around on December 20 and sold the covered call options on those shares. I got $3,319.65 USD in cash for selling them. I gave someone the right to buy my shares for $45 by January 17, 2025. No matter what I keep the $3,319.65 that I made. If the stock goes up past that, the most I will make is $45 a share. I am more than Ok if that stock gets purchased away at $45. But if not, I will just sell out of the money covered call options again for February.

Interesting. I never knew anything about being able to do this. So you can sell these options for any stock you hold long? Seems too good to be true. So if I am understanding this right you bought 2300 shares of YPF for $92k. Then right away you got $3,320? That alone is 3.6% and even if YPF skyrockets all you will make is $45 per share? You will get $103,500 bucks? Or a $14,820 profit in one month??? Seems too good to be true.

Yes this is how writing covered call options work. Very conservative approach if you are going to own stock anyway. Many people that own many shares in a certain company might do this. My brother does this against shares he owns. He sells far enough out from strike price but the downside is that if the stock skyrockets you will only get the strike price you sold at.

He does this every single month and his returns are very good. Obviously the closer it is to the price the higher the premium you will get. The further out the price is the less you will get.

Wow! I just looked and it looks like YPF is already going to hit $45 this week. I guess the only downside is if it blows past $45 you gave up whatever it goes over. Congrats! That is a hefty ROI in only a few weeks time.

Great return indeed. Very conservative strategy. I own a bunch of YPF. I didn't think about doing this but I may try it.

I almost sold some $47 January call options. I could have gotten 95 cents today but I guess I will see what happens next week. I think I will just buy and hold the stock.

Damn. That ended up being a great call. I picked up some YPF from reading these posts too. I wonder how high it can go in the next few years.
