Does anyone else find it strange Argentina still thinks they won the Falklands War?

Looking forward to hearing more about this. They say they weren't fishing but I assume they were. Falkland Islands responds.

Well, Argentina still thinks they won the war. She is saying all the people there are squatters! I'm sure they would have a different opinion.

I wonder if the UK is arresting people in the Falkland Islands as well for Facebook posts they don't like. 🤡🤡🤡🤡

Well, it's good that Milei is bashing some of the leaders in the UK.

The story of the Falkland Islands is far from over. I believe you have to be Argentine to truly understand it. The British ambassador refused to take a photo because a congresswoman was wearing a shirt featuring the Malvinas with the colors of the Argentine flag. For Argentines, this remains a very sensitive topic.

This Vice President seems like a hot head.

I don't understand what Villaruel wants? I mean Argentina lost the war. She just seems like she is arguing with herself here.

Argentina somehow thinks that some day they will get the Falklands back. Not sure how they see that happening.

Well the UK certainly doesn't have any doubts about who owns the Falklands. The UK Minister of the Armed Forces is very clear,
"The Falkland Islands are British, and they will remain British for as long as the Islanders wish.

In the 2013 referendum, an overwhelming 99.8% voted to remain as an overseas territory of the UK. Your right of self-determination is enshrined in the UN Charter and a UN Covenant on Human Rights. We look forward to building a productive relationship with Argentina as a fellow G20 partner, but our position on the Falklands is unwavering.

I wonder who those 0.2% of the people there voted to go with Argentina. I have met several people from there and they say it will never go back to Argentina and they would never vote for that.
🤣

Argentine judge rules travel agency should not advertise Malvinas as UK destination

Part of why I left Argentina is the locals are delusional. The Falklands will NEVER be Argentine. The locals are happy to be part of the UK. Argentines have a reality distortion problem.

I get your point, but the Falklands (Malvinas) are considered Argentine territory by most of us here. The claim dates back to 1820, when Argentina first established sovereignty over the islands. Although the British took control in 1833, the islands have been a source of tension ever since. Many people, including our president Javier Milei, have made it clear that we will continue to fight for their recovery. There’s a lot of pride here in defending what we believe is ours, and it’s not just about history, it’s about territorial integrity. Even the UN recognizes that the conflict exists and encourages negotiations between Argentina and the UK. So, it’s not a 'reality distortion,' it’s a political and historical matter that we’re not letting go of. I respect your opinion, but that’s why so many of us feel so strongly about the issue. You should talk to any Argentine about it, though, and even then, if you're not Argentine, you might never fully understand it.

But there was a war and Argentina lost and the residents do NOT want to be Argentine. What more to the story is this? It doesn't really matter how Argentines feel about it. It should matter what the people that actually live there feel. And almost all want to be UK NOT Argentine.

There is always more than one version of history depending on what you want to believe.

But , I am at a failutre to understand why most Argentine free thinkers do not want to recognise the rights of the residents of the islands to determine their future.
Exactly! What is there more to think about? Don't they have to vote and I read that Argentina even tried to bribe them and pay each resident and they still voted no. I don't think there is much to discuss. I'm sure Mexico would also like Texas back but it isn't happening. They lost the war.

This is what I don't understand. No one on the island wants to have anything to do with Argentina so I don't think anything else matters. People should consider their consideration of what they want to do.
