Expat Life: Local Discoveries, Global Connections

More and more locals are fighting back against crime

People are tired of all the theft, and many are taking justice into their own hands. While this can sometimes work out, it can also be dangerous. This time, a thief broke a car window to steal in the Congreso neighborhood, and the neighbors caught him.

Are people this nuts in Buenos Aires? I saw this video. The bus just got in an accident and it didn't look serious and the woman goes nuts. Is this normal in Argentina?

I wouldn't say this is normal here but many people are hot headed in Argentina. The really bad economy isn't helping but this lady definitely overreacted. I'm sure the city has insurance and it would have paid to repair her car.

Hopefully the price increases don't care more issues like this with people on public transport and buses in CABA.

It's something normal here, too much violence. This lady just wanted to travel with her dog, but it seems that annoyed another passenger who was yelling at her to get off the bus.

These days, violence is present in all areas, including education. While it might seem like the news about a student from the University of Buenos Aires threatening to kill his classmates with a shotgun is typical of the United States, this kind of violence and crime is not common here.

Look at this woman, the owner of a pet shop, she defended herself by throwing hot water at the thieves, and it worked.🫨

The holidays are approaching, and robberies are on the rise. In the commercial area of Flores, there are a lot of people shopping for Christmas gifts these days, and as always, there are criminals who take advantage of the situation. However, in this case, the person was identified, and they were made very aware that stealing is not okay.🫨
