Taxi from EZE airport or Uber?

I'm just waiting for the taxi mafias to start getting broken up outside AMBA... It's annoying when I go to Neuquén to have to deal with the taxi mobsters who price gouge like crazy, going from the airport into the city.
When I think about how much progress has been made in Argentina and especially Buenos Aires with the taxis I get a huge smile on my face. Things have changed so much over the past 2 decades. I remember when I first came to Buenos Aires, the taxi cartel was like a mafia. Taxi medallians used to be as expensive as an apartment. They were so expensive. Now they are worthless in the new era of Uber and Didi and Cabify.

Then when Uber first got to BA for many years it was taxi drivers hitting cars and not knowing if you would get beat up going into an Uber. For a while you always had to ride in front and even then if a taxi cab saw you it would doubtful what would happen.

Great to see progress with this. I agree with you @Darksider415 it will be a great day when they allow rideshares at every airport all over Argentina. That really is the trend.

Depends time of day. Paid about 48,000 pesos last week from the airport to Palermo Soho.
That actually seems a bit high. I know surge pricing can come into play sometimes.

What is Uber charging these days from EZE to Palermo?
@Flamingo you can actually go into the Uber App and see the exact price even if you aren't in Buenos Aires. Right now I see the price at 32,233 pesos from Ezeiza to Palermo Hollywood. Still a great bargain for that distance.

I find those longer rides from the city to the airport or airport to the city are a good bargain. What is painful is sometimes the rate between two close distances is expensive. Palermo to Recoleta sometimes now is over 12,000 pesos so that ride to the airport is cheap but two neighborhoods is expensive for local standards. Still cheap compared to Europe or US.
