What could Milei do to convince haters like Avocado / Larry ?

I want to see poverty go down with my own eyes not with some figures on some imaginary chart. I need to see it with my own eyes and stop seeing people going through trash cans for food daily.

I don't know how anyone can say poverty rates didn't go up with Milei. They went from 40% to 53% in the first 6 months. I do not see evidence of it going down yet. Look at consumption of beef! Lowest in 28 years!

Less investments in universities which is critical. Research centers and hospitals which Argentina has always had good reputation. What will happen if IMF does not give more money. Already Argentina can't handle it debt.
@Avocado soon you will be a Milei fan! I saw posts today that poverty is falling quite a bit now. Just saw a few reports saying 39%.

Nope, Lula is selling off USD to prop up the real, which means Brazil is going to be temporarily more expensive, unless the markets recognize what is really going on. It's already fallen from 6.3 reales to 6.1 per dollar.
I went over to Rio a few weeks and love it! It is much cheaper than BA. BA has gotten expensive. The gay scene is also much better in Rio!

When I think I will give Milei a chance he goes off and do something stupid like this!

This drive me crazy. I worry for the military all over where they should not be. Now he say military need to be in all the places where they say strategic value for State. And he say government define what is terrorist threat. This very bad for Argentina.

I agree with you on this one Avocado. I never like it when the government gets to define what is vital and what is not.

Almost all our friends are going to Brazil this year skipping out on Pinamar or Mar del Plata. Will be interesting to see if Lula is successful or not. Burning a lot of dollars.

Nothing, he should keep doing what he's doing despite haters opinions:

The Kirchnerism before the elections emptied the central bank reserves and followed a plan to end Milei's government early:
  1. Destroy the economy by printing money and empty the central bank reserves so Milei would have a hard time putting the numbers in shape,
  2. Buy journalists to spread fake news about Milei and his family.
  3. Buy economists to spread fake data about the economic situation
  4. Organize violent protests in an attempt to destabilize the goverment and force it to end early
_________
  • They knew that by printing so much money inflation would sky rocket,
  • They knew that prices would go up
  • They knew that poverty would increase.

This is not the first time that it happens: they did it with Macri, De La Rua and Alfonsin.

Kirchnerism / Peronism did nothing but destroy Argentina over decades of corruption, they don't care about the people that voted them at all, they don't care about the poor, they don't care about the country, they don't care about Wally and Avocado so why Milei should?
This is what I think too. I see the stores busy for the first time in a while. Supermarkets are all full but I can't tell if it's to stock up for Christmas. People seem hopeful. Poverty seems to be improving. Salaries are going up but people still seem to be complaining. What more will it take! I ask some friends that all the time and they always make some excuse.

One thing I am worried about is Argentina taking on too much more debt from the IMF. They can't even pay off the debt and lawsuit judgements they have now. I worry about that.
