Argentina police pepper spray pension protesters

They shouldn't be doing this unless people are violent.

Supermarket Diarco in Buenos Aires is exchanging Blue dollar at 1,400 pesos to $1 USD (Any condition, shape or denomination)

Thanks for posting this link with more details. So it doesn't appear to be as good as I thought then. It sounds like you can only exchange enough to pay for your goods. It doesn't sound like you can exchange cash and not use it for the store. I thought maybe you could exchange a bigger bill and...

Politics Elon Musk calls to invest in Argentina after meeting up with Milei in LA

Great article. After reading the artcle it sounds like both Musk and Milei both benefit. Seems logical and smart to me.

At least coffee prices seem to be coming down finally.

Politics Tomorrow, May 9th, the country will come to a standstill - National strike

All was fine yesterday. 40% of buses running like normal. Just about every single store I visited was open for business. Gas stations open, all supermarkets, restaurants, cafes. Uber did not even have surge pricing at all. Everything was normal. This entire thing was very political.

Medical If COVID comes back and mutates into something else will you get another vaccinated against it?

Never getting another Covid 19 vaccine. I have never known any friends or family to have had issues with their pregnancies and this past year I know 3 people that lost their babies at the 7/8/9 month mark.

Price of Beef will skyrocket at Parillas and steak restaurants! Good time to become a vegeterian!

Antipathy? Please, that's like saying a lukewarm cup of tea after enduring 16/20 years of Kirchner government. A hefty chunk of Argentinians are harboring a fiery, full-on hatred – they're just not out there protesting at midnight on a Tuesday because, you know, work beckons bright and early...

    Side Hustles for Older Expats

This sounds very accurate. I would add one more to that category and that seems to be people with no plan at all. Trying to escape reality in the USA but with no real plan. Lately I read about some expats planning on moving down here but they have a high paying job back home and some of them...

Love Advice - Fell in love with an escort in Buenos Aires - Is it real love?

@Avocado please take this advice in the spirit it is intended. You can't assume your daughter would never do something like this. Maybe you provide for her financially but we did as well. Our daughter went to very good schools, and we helped her. We are not wealthy by any means. She never...

Are Foreign expats in Buenos Aires the ones that couldn't hack it in their own countries?

Argentina is accepting of all foreigners from other countries. Our country is a country of immigrants from other countries.

Is the Expat party in Buenos Aires coming to an end?

Embarking on my quest for antique treasures to spruce up my apartment, I stumbled upon a quaint shop with an enticing window display. Seizing the opportune moment when the door appeared ajar, I knocked, and after a brief interlude, the somewhat surprised shopkeeper welcomed me in. Expressing my...

Is the Expat party in Buenos Aires coming to an end?

I already know some expats that are planning to leave Argentina. I told them to wait and see what the blue dollar does in a few months. But I know many that left the last time it got expensive. Many thought it would be cheap forever.

Love Advice - Fell in love with an escort in Buenos Aires - Is it real love?

NEVER judge anyone. I want to tell you a true story. My daughter is educated and I brought her up well. She has never wanted for anything. I have always helped her. We noticed that she always has the latest iPhone, nice clothes and takes trips. My husband and I found out she has a sugar...

Newcomer What are some Top Bilingual English and Spanish language schools in Buenos Aires for my children?

If your boss is picking up the tab, Lincoln might be cool if you're into that whole US public school vibe. But seriously, there are tons of bilingual schools that won't break the bank and still rock.
