Tips for my 2 weeks trip to BA - Apartment recommendations

I wouldn’t say you need to avoid La Boca. It is maybe worth visiting once but I think what people are saying is you most likely won’t be spending a lot of time there. It’s kind of a touristy trap type of place. You do have to watch your phone or camera in that area but you shouldn’t have...

I heard in Colombia getting drugged can easily happpen as a female. In BA never heard of anyone having this happen and some of my friends have been living here for 10 years. BA is very safe.

Newcomer What documentation do I need to enter Argentina?

You will love BA! It’s very easy to stay here for 3 months and then you can extend by crossing the border. They have a ferry to Uruguay and you can get another 3 months. I have met people doing this for years.

Food & Drink Does anyone else notice their coffee recently not tasting good?

Yes it tastes bitter as many places use poor quality coffee beans covered in burned sugar. Just horrible. It is outlawed in many countries but they seem to like it here in Argentina.

Politics The Government decided to eliminate the Potenciar Trabajo and will take control of the social plans away from the picketers - Infobae

My friend told me that these social organizations were getting the funds and then forcing some people to go to protest against the government or they wouldn't give them the payments. This seems like a good move. It sounds like the money is still there but the government will dole it out to the...

Politics Exploring Local Artisanal Shopping in Buenos Aires

The best place to buy good and original handicrafts of all kinds is the San Telmo fair in Defensa street on Saturdays and Mondays, but it is a very touristy place.

Oh boy "Digital Nomads" are starting to post on what a great deal Buenos Aires is. Here they all come.

I agree. Restaurant prices in the United States in some cities is crazy. I do agree for locals it must be very expensive as their wages are so low.

This is very helpful. Thanks for sharing. Wow $1,000 USD per class sounds expensive for local standards. Are all classes this expensive? Or just the English language classes?

Travel Low-cost airlines announce new routes in Argentina - BA Times

I had a great experience with both FlyBondi https://flybondi.com/ar and Jetsmart https://jetsmart.com/ar/es/ My flights on Aerolineas were all delayed. That airlines seems like a disaster! I'm sure a private company could run it better.

Medical Have any female expats had breast augmentation done in Buenos Aires? Any good referrals for good doctors for boob job in Argentina? Price?

So I was also looking into this. I didn't do it but may on another trip. I saw quotes from $4,000 all the way up to $10,000 depending on doctor and implant brand. I'm not sure why they vary so much but I'm guessing the reputation of the doctor.

Newcomer Where can I find the most affordable coat for Patagonia in Buenos Aires?

Check eBay for a pre-owned Quark or Lindblad jacket, as many individuals sell them upon returning from polar expeditions. Alternatively, you can explore stores in Ushuaia for available options.
