Politics Why are there so many dismissals or resignations in Milei's cabinet?

The thing is, with Milei, there are no second chances. If he doesn't like something, you're out immediately. I believe he hasn't fired Villarruel because he can't, but if he could, he would have done it already.

    Newcomer Quality coffee in BA

Has anyone found a place to buy good quality coffee beans at a reasonable price? I’m not looking for something as fancy as Coffee Lab, just a place that roasts their own beans and sells them whole or ground, but at a lower cost than the more upscale coffee shops in the city. Thanks!

Argentine Senators give themselves yet another raise

While they’re giving themselves raises and earning 9,000,000 ARS, they just increased teachers' salaries. Do you know by how much? It honestly seems like a joke… https://www.ambito.com/economia/el-gobierno-fijo-el-nuevo-salario-minimo-docente-n6051410

Newcomer Which neighborhood do you recommend?

Belgrano R., from Plaza Castelli to Plaza Zapiola, is a very quiet and safe neighborhood. At the same time, everything you need is close by, lots of shops, restaurants, and as @Chuck mentioned, you can easily get to Palermo from there.

Newcomer Any good fiambrerias in Palermo?

In my opinion, the best deli in Palermo is Franco Parma. They offer a wide variety of cheeses, cold cuts, and nuts. Plus, at some locations, you can eat there as they have tables upstairs where you can enjoy their delicacies. https://francoparma.com/ https://maps.app.goo.gl/tBVp1QXfnWL4uUhP7

Newcomer The Worst Winter in History

The spring-like days didn’t last long. There’s a weather alert for extreme cold, rain, and strong winds in Buenos Aires. There could also be heavy frost across much of the region, and some areas might even see snow. Time to pull out the winter coats again...

Newcomer Have you ever felt discriminated against or treated unfairly just because you're a foreigner or tourist in Buenos Aires?

Impressive response from this Argentine when asked in Spain about the rise in sexual assaults linked to immigrants. Racism and xenophobia are growing there, and despite their claims of being a progressive country, it’s sad to see how they’re trying to convince the public that immigrants are the...

Tank poses, gifts and a toast – Milei’s Independence Day military parade

A round of applause for Milei, who is rebuilding the homeland. Do you remember the July 9th celebration last year? Ugh, my God...better to forget it.

Economy The 'Chachos' are already circulating in La Rioja - does issuing a new currency serve any purpose?

Exactly! Many people have fear and insecurity regarding these bonds issued by the province of La Rioja. Many merchants are hesitant to accept them because they don't feel secure about their value. This is the case with gas stations, which still do not accept them, as they have concerns about the...

The coldest May in 30 years

I'm thinking about that too. How much will the electricity bill be this month? I have the air conditioner on almost all day, but what can we do? I can't imagine getting through this winter without using it. I just hope the electricity and Metrogas prices don't keep going up.

What is celebrated on July 9th in Argentina?

There's a lot of excitement about this parade! I'll be attending tomorrow and will share all about it afterward. I'm looking forward to seeing those impressive planes from the Argentine Air Force, they're really enthusiastic about putting on this show since it hasn't happened in five years.

Economy The 'Chachos' are already circulating in La Rioja - does issuing a new currency serve any purpose?

I think implementing a new currency in La Rioja won't work as an effective strategy, especially given our historical precedents. It seems like a temporary solution that won't address the main problem in the long run. Nonetheless, I wish them luck, and we'll see how it turns out. I've read...

Politics Hope for Change: Why Did Milei Win the Support of Low-Income Voters?

Even kids are drawn to Milei; I guess it's because of his direct and sometimes provocative style, which can be fun. He's an unconventional president with straightforward ideas that kids and young people can grasp as they form their views of the world. Plus, his no-nonsense attitude and even his...

The coldest May in 30 years

In Tierra del Fuego, a friendly penguin crossed the streets during the cold wave, surprising a woman driving her car. The situation arose because even penguins struggle to navigate when everything is frozen 🥶

Newcomer What is the best place to see the most beautiful sunset in Buenos Aires?

I've seen one of the best sunsets in Chascomús, with the lagoon in the background. It's not super close to the city, but it's not too far either, only about an hour and a half by bus or train. It’s definitely worth the trip!

Newcomer Any recommendations for weekend getaways near the city?

A while back, my girlfriend and I went to Chascomús and rented a beautiful cabin near the lagoon. Honestly, we're thinking of going back because everything was just wonderful, the landscape, the town, the nightlife, and the incredible sense of peace. The people there were also incredibly...
