Milei will probably survive this but terrible he didn't fire his sister who is obviously in on this. There more I research the worse it is.

I read that BA Times article and all the evidence is very bad. No chance it was a coincidence with the timing. You make a good point @Blockchain about crime being crime. Fortunately Milei is on good terms with Trump. I doubt there will be any FBI investigation or make much headway with Trump being so close to him. Also, from reading some of these posts and watching some videos it looks like Melania Trump was working with the same people. My opinion on all of these politicians is that they are all crooks. Most in the USA wait until after office to cash in. They know they have a winning lottery ticket.I saw this video. Anyone in the crypto space knows how bad this is. There was 100% fraud and you even have that moron admitting it. He was with Milei and his sister a few times. Read this article. There was definitely a pay off. Argentina is a banana republic and it will always be one.
Countries like this don't charge. My opinion of Milei totally changed after this. It means he can be bought. He could have turned things around firing his sister or whomever was to blame if it wasn't his sister. If he is saying he didn't know about it. Some one told him to post that post. If you look on X, besides locals that are kind of blind, the international community especially people that understand technology has shifted against him.
Cristina stole from Argentina and Milei stole from others. One isn't more wrong vs. another. A thief is a thief.

$LIBRA: Javier Milei’s black swan moment
The case is scandalous from all angles and while Milei will probably manage to survive and even thrive in its aftermath, the reputational damage is done.www.batimes.com.ar
One thing we can all agree on is that this was a shady thing to do. My friends that know I lived here from all over the world send me news report links asking me about this. Before they consistently only saw positive news and were telling me that they were reading great things about him. That all quickly turned.

I loved a lot of things about Argentina but all the corruption and scams is not something I miss. The entire country is like this. There are a lot of Milei fanboys that will approve of whatever he does. Seems the same in the States with Trump.I saw this video. Anyone in the crypto space knows how bad this is. Corruption won't ever end in countries like South America. This was a very good read. It just goes to show you that probably in any other country a scandal like this would probably have more problems but when the people leading the charge (Cristina Kirchner) who stole tens of millions of dollars from Argentines, locals probably look at this is no big deal compared to the other thefts.I loved a lot of things about Argentina but all the corruption and scams is not something I miss. The rampant corruption is something I don't think will change in Argentina. And if have Presidents that are pulling active scams multiple times and gets away with it what hope does the country have long term??
Argentina won't soon change which makes me sad because there is so much potential there. If things ever come back to normal prices I would consider going back but so far we are enjoying Spain.
I really liked Milei before this. He is probably Argentina's best hope but I lost my respect for him. And lost more respect that he didn't just apologize and fire his sister over it. The fact that majority of locals support this doesn't give me much hope for Argentina long term. Shocked to hear that he was involved with another scam. He just seems like another creepy thief stealing people's money.
The world knows how that Milei is a conman. His story is lies. At least Trump did his before he was President. But he is a con man too. Read the article. Milei is scum. The New York Times had another story about Milei and his Libra con.

Some of this may be true but I would consider the source. Since the crash, evidence has emerged contradicting the president’s claims; critics in Argentina have accused his inner circle of taking bribes; and the American consultant, whom Mr. Milei last month referred to as an adviser, has admitted to amassing $100 million from the scheme.
In 2020, Mr. Milei began teaching at Mr. Novelli’s small investing academy and became the school’s pitchman, posting repeatedly about it online, up until he was president. In 2022, he posted about a new crypto project from Mr. Novelli, calling it “an economic model that’s sustainable over time.” Not long after, it collapsed.
At the conference, Mr. Novelli was charging sponsors $50,000 for a speaking slot and a meet-and-greet with Mr. Milei, according to four attendees who paid the fee.
Yet those people said the meeting with the president turned out to be a quick group photo. To get more time, two of them said, conference organizers told them it would cost more.
“They’d say, ‘Hey, you know, give us a little something-something and we can get you a meeting,” said Charles Hoskinson, a cryptocurrency billionaire who founded one of the industry’s largest platforms, Cardano.
Another attendee said Mr. Novelli offered a meeting with the president if the person signed a $500,000 contract for vague “consulting services,” according to a copy of the document viewed by The Times.
But Mr. Novelli was not the only one selling access to Mr. Milei.
Mr. Davis — a 28-year-old with curly blonde hair and garish gold glasses whom Mr. Novelli had met at a crypto event in Denver — was also telling conference attendees that he had “control” over Mr. Milei and could broker deals, according to messages viewed by The Times.
“Everything from Milei tweeting” to “all the front-facing Milei stuff basically, showing up at things, et cetera — I have control over a lot of those levers,” Mr. Davis said in an audio message to an entrepreneur, obtained by The Times.
I did not know this. I thought the NYT was a very respected newspaper. Many people around the world read it and believe it. Is this true? Some of this may be true but I would consider the source. It used to be respected by everyone but it's too biased and opinionated to be credible today. They knew about Biden's dementia, they knew inflation was bad and that opinion polls were heavily against Biden, they knew Harris was a weak candidate and that many in the party were against her, but they buried all of it and instead issued Democratic Party propaganda suggesting the exact opposite. It wasn't until the election results were so bad and they needed to deflect blame that they started admitting these things and acting as though they were duped like everyone else. I feel confident in saying that the old NYT would never have done this.I did not know this. I thought the NYT was a very respected newspaper. Many people around the world read it and believe it.
