On the last Sunday of October, BA Celebrates Europe II will pay tribute to twelve European communities, with Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Scotland, Spain, France, Wales, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania and Poland taking centre stage.
The event will offer more than 60 food, craft and cultural stands, allowing attendees to enjoy the flavours and traditions of each participating community. Banitsa and kebab from Bulgaria, Hungarian pastries, Galician empanadas, French bakery or Italian delicatessen will be some of the options. In addition, the event will feature more than 30 artistic presentations that will include traditional dances, music and singing, highlighting the best of the cultural heritage of each community. The Greek community will be present with a Hellenic ballet group, the Bulgarian community with a 'Sedianka' ensemble of young people.
BA Celebrates Europe II is a unique opportunity for European communities residing in the City of Buenos Aires to meet and share their traditions with their neighbours. Organised by the General Directorate of Communities and Migrants, in collaboration with more than 30 institutions and organisations of the European communities, the event promotes cultural dialogue and strengthens ties between the various communities that enrich the identity of Buenos Aires.
The ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. and will be attended by authorities from the City Government, including Pamela Malewicz, Undersecretary of Citizen Culture and Human Rights, and Carla Artunduaga, General Director of Collectivities and Migrants.

The 20th edition of the night in which museums and various cultural institutions throughout the City open their doors and invite you to come in and enjoy a free programme specially designed to surprise you has arrived.
To celebrate two decades of this great event, 242 institutions will open their doors.
Here are some of the options.
Art Factory | Agustín R. Caffarena 1 | The Mouth
From 7pm to 2am, there will be a mapping show on the façade of the Usina, in a hypnotic audiovisual spectacle. In addition, you will find food trucks, aerial painting and artistic workshops for the whole family.
Monumental Tower | Av. Ramos Mejia 1315 | Withdrawal
From 7pm, there will be guided tours (25 people at a time) to the Tower's viewing point, to learn about the history of the City and the emblematic buildings that surround it. At 8pm, there will be a printing workshop for children to print T-shirts with stencils of the design of the Monumental Tower (for ages 8 and up).
Museum of Contemporary Art of Buenos Aires (MACBA) | Av. San Juan 328 | San Telmo
At 9 pm, there will be drawn choreographies: lines, points and planes in collective construction. It will be a group activity inspired by the work of Ernesto Ballesteros, in which participants will draw in a guided manner on the same surface.
“Juan A. Domínguez” Pharmacobotany Museum. Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry. UBA | Junín 956 | Recoleta
At 8 pm, they will take a trip through the microscopic life of plants. In this workshop, they will be able to observe plants under a microscope, their roots, their stems, their leaves and some of the characteristic structures of these plant organs such as trichomes, stomata and more.

At 9pm, you can expect a concert by Criminal Tango, the group that presents national rock versions in tango format. And at 11pm, the great dance at the Manzana de las Luces, with a double set by DJs NapDank and N1k1t4.
Museum of the Malvinas and South Atlantic Islands | Santiago de Calzadilla 1301 | Núñez
From 7pm to 2am, there will be a continuous tour so that you can learn about the principles of sovereignty. There will be a History room, a Malvinas War room that will be a tactile station, and an accessible and multi-sensory visual and sound exploration project called Immersion in the depths.
Fernando Arranz Museum of Ceramic Art | Alejandro Margariños Cervantes 5068 | Velez Sarsfield
At 7 p.m., there will be an open pottery workshop for children (8 to 12 years old). And from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., an open workshop on modeling small pieces with clay.

You will also have the opportunity to watch live broadcasts of the programmes. From 8.30pm, there will be music and dance performances in the auditorium.
La Cisterna Archaeological Site | Moreno 550 | Montserrat
At 7 p.m., a guided tour to discover the various objects that were found in this place during the excavation.
Historic ride in the old La Brugeoise carriages on Line A | Peru Station on Line A – Access to San Pedrito | Montserrat
There will be three trips between the Perú and Acoyte stations, each lasting 40 minutes, during which a tour guide will tell the story of the “witches” cars, as they are popularly known, and the beginnings of the subway. The first trip will begin at 0.30 am on Sunday, November 10, after the end of the regular service.

The Regional Fair arrives to celebrate our traditions and the cultural richness of every corner of the country. On Avenida de Mayo, you’ll be able to explore over 100 stands from provincial houses and entrepreneurs offering typical products from each province, with no intermediaries and at affordable prices.
Each of the five regions of the country will be represented by its characteristic color. You will also enjoy food stalls with traditional dishes, themed workshops, and photo spaces, among other surprises. Additionally, there will be live music and dance performances on the main stage at Plaza de Mayo, and artistic proposals for all tastes in an alternative space.
In the food court, native flavors will take center stage, with Santiago del Estero empanadas by Berta Ruiz, Patagonian lamb sandwiches by Foodtruck Argentina, and vegan and vegetarian options offered by Club Veggie. Among the entrepreneurs attending the fair, Art Salta Artesanías stands out, arriving from the Northwest with its alpaca pieces, combining materials such as wood, leather, and fabrics to create unique works. From the Cuyo region, Finca Amakaik will bring the authenticity of its handmade wines to the city. This winery, currently transitioning to organic production, won the silver medal at Vinandino 2018 for a Cabernet and Malbec blend. From Patagonia, the family microbusiness Isla Negra will surprise with its chocolates, ice creams, and alfajores, prepared with recipes that evoke the typical flavors of the South. Representing the essence of the Litoral, the Museo de Artesanías de Corrientes will present a selection of crafts and knives, iconic pieces from the region. From the Center, Flor de Dije will fuse nature and jewelry in unique accessories made with preserved native flora. Additionally, many provinces will be represented with institutional stands offering tastings, raffles, and tourist activities for the whole family.

Join in on the conferences, talks, workshops, technical-professional visits, special tours for children and adults, access to the specialists' workplaces. There will also be a schedule of visits to areas not normally open to the public, heritage buildings, public spaces, archaeological sites and museums. Not to be missed!
The first edition of the City Heritage Week will be held between November 10 and 16 to promote the care of heritage and access to the tangible and intangible cultural assets of the people of Buenos Aires, from architecture to the imagination and traditions of Buenos Aires.
There will be activities taking place all over the city, with a wide and varied platform of activities. There will be six days of conferences, talks, workshops, technical-professional visits, special tours for children and adults , access to specialists' workplaces and visits to areas not normally open to the public in heritage buildings, archaeological sites, museums and public spaces.
Heritage Week is organized by the Buenos Aires Ministry of Culture, following the mission outlined in Law 1227 of the City, which provides a legal and philosophical framework for the “research, preservation, safeguarding, protection, restoration, promotion, enhancement and transmission to future generations of the cultural heritage of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.” This first edition will take place between November 10, Day of Tradition (190th anniversary of the birth of José Hernández), and November 16, International World Heritage Day.
Likewise, the General Directorate of Heritage, Museums and Historic Center invites public and private cultural institutions of the city that want to participate in this first edition of the event, since the best way to protect and enhance our identity is by sharing it . All activities deemed relevant to sharing Buenos Aires' heritage may be included, including one-off talks, master classes, extraordinary visits, unprecedented openings, unusual activities, shows, workshops, special classes, site-specific exhibitions and other alternatives that expand the regular programming.

I went to last year’s edition, and it was a great experience, so I’ll be going back this weekend. The only tip I have is to check the schedule in advance to choose which museums to visit, so you don’t waste time. Starting at 7pm this Wednesday, more than 500 participating ice cream shops across the country will offer a 2x1 promotion on a quarter kilo. Ice Cream Night is part of the Authentic Artisanal Ice Cream Week, which takes place from November 11 to 17 throughout the country and which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary. Organized by the Association of Artisanal Ice Cream and Related Manufacturers (AFADHYA), solidarity actions are carried out and ice cream is delivered to different health institutions and foundations: the Los Piletones soup kitchen, the Casa del Teatro, the Natalí Flexer Foundation and the Casa Garrahan Foundation.
Two new tastes
You already know that every year Ice Cream Night comes with surprises. In the 2024 edition, two new flavors are being released: “Citrus Symphony” and “Imperial Cake.”
The first is a refreshing fruity mix that combines oranges, lemons and tangerines. The second, an irresistible option inspired by the traditional Argentine dessert, notable for its chantilly cream and meringue, sprinkled with dulce de leche, meringues, pionono and chestnuts in syrup.

For the seventh consecutive year, Usina is dressed in the Italian tricolor for the closing of the country's great gastronomic fair. The Buenos Aires Tango Orchestra will perform alongside the renowned singer María Graña as a guest artist. She is considered one of the greatest female figures in the history of tango, with more than fifty years of experience. The orchestra directed by Maestro Néstor Marconi will perform a selection of Ástor Piazzola.
They will give an open-air concert at the Centenario Park Amphitheater alongside María Graña , the so-called "Queen of Tango . "

María Graña (Buenos Aires, June 16, 1953), known as "the Queen of Tango" , is widely considered one of the most important female singers in the history of tango. With a career spanning more than fifty years , she was part of Osvaldo Pugliese's orchestra and has released more than ten studio albums , winning three Carlos Gardel Awards and three Konex Awards . In addition, she led long tours in Europe, Asia and Latin America, among which the one she integrated with Tango Argentino stands out.
The Buenos Aires Tango Orchestra was founded in 1980. It is an organization dependent on the General Directorate of Music of the Buenos Aires Government. It is directed by Maestros Néstor Marconi and Juan Carlos Cuacci . Awards obtained: Gold Record for Live at the Colón (2001), Konex Foundation Diploma of Merit as a Tango Ensemble (1995 and 2005). Nominations for the 2011 Latin Grammys for their works 30 años, Homenaje a Cátulo Castillo and Aníbal Troilo; Latin Grammy for Best Tango Album 2015, Carlos Gardel Awards, for Best Instrumental Orchestra Album 2016, both recognitions for the Tribute to Astor Piazzolla. In 2021, the Orchestra released the CD “Homenaje a Carlos García”.

Heavy Metal: Universe in fantasy

Based on the comic strips from the adult magazine Heavy Metal, this collection of seven fantastic, science fiction and horror stories included the work of many key animators in the future of the medium, as well as techniques and styles of all kinds: from the most classic cartoon (“Captain Sternn”) to terrifying hyperrealism (“B-29”), passing through the fluorescent colors of the great Richard Corben (“Den”) or the unbridled heroic fantasy of Taarna (the only original fragment of the film). It also has great moments of comedy (the voices include John Candy, Harold Ramis and Eugene Levy, comedy masters; it is not for nothing that the film was produced by Ivan Reitman and the satirical magazine National Lampoon) and a rock soundtrack that includes Blue Oyster Club, Nazareth, Stevie Nicks, Black Sabbath, Cheap Trick and Devo, among others.
