Do you support Luigi killing him then? I hate insurance companies more than the next person. Both my parents are sick and paid hundreds of thousands in medicare premiums over the decades as they were self-employed and always have to fight with insurance companies. In fact, I had to move back Stateside to take care of them. As you say @LyellLanatone they make it hell. Still, I don't know if the solution is killing CEO's. But maybe things will change now. I hope so. One thing is for sure is you can see the anger out there.

My own experience is you pay a fortune into healthcare for decades and decades then you finally make a reasonable claim and an AI chatbot denies it ... yeah that makes people incredibly mad and desperate

So many people sound like they had frustrating situations but Luigi doesn't sound like he or his family were struggling for money. They sound like they have $$$. Can't just go around killing people but this sounds like there is a real discussion now. It's been on the news non-stop on CNN.

Luigi and his family didn’t even use United so they weren’t the ones who denied him. No matter, you don’t kill someone because you don’t agree with their policies or else millions would be killed every day!

Morals aside, it highlights the gaping hole that is the flawed US healthcare system. It's completely broken. I took my daughter to the ER when she was a baby because of breathing problems. I could hear the nurse talking to the patient next door. His vitals were fine and they asked if he was homeless and came to the ER to look for a bed to sleep in. He replied yes. They explained that he couldn't sleep there and had to leave. His service was free. The doctor came to see me and said my daughters vitals were fine. I was paying for health insurance. My co-pay was $1,000 for the same service.

Insurance companies are terrible. I posted on X last night. Dealing with insurance companies is a complete nightmare. Since moving to the USA from Buenos Aires in 2011 I have paid over $320,000 US dollars in private medical insurance for my family of 5 (including 3 kids). That is not counting co-pays, deductibles, etc. That is only for the monthly coverage. Being a parent of children you can't go without medical insurance. No way, no how. Fortunately my kids are all healthy but when you do need to use it, they make it impossible.

My daughter in high school like many kids got acne and just trying to get her into a dermatologist is impossible. There is a 2.5 month wait to get into any dermatologist here in San Diego. 2.5 months for a kid is a long time. Even though we are on a great PPO plan. What did we have to do? My wife had to end up driving over the border to Tijuana and got an appointment with a top dermatologist there. One of the best doctors in town in a modern medical facility. Appointment and medications less than $200. Just the co-pay in the USA is $100. Don't mind the co-pay but it shouldn't take 2.5 months when you're on the best medical plan.

I have had to get specialized bloodwork. My doctor said it should all be covered. A few months later I get a bill for $3,845 dollars. That was my part after the insurance paid the lab! Healthcare is totally broken here in the USA. Either you can't get into a doctor, or they deny claims or they just rip you off. My primary care doctor retired and I had to find a new one. I find a new one and he writes some prescription for sleeping pills as I have chronic insomnia. I ask for a refill 2 months later and he asks to come for another appointment. Needless to say I'm looking for another doctor.

That is terrible! It is the same for my family. They tell me it's impossible to get an appointment to a specialist without waiting months and months.

As far as I am concerned Luigi is a hero. More of these healthcare companies need to face their day of reckoning. My sister died of cancer and fought the companies till the end. Not shedding one tear from that ceo.

I agree that there are gaps in our healthcare system in America but I don't think killing people is the way out. I see a lot of crazy things at the hospital and it is sad sometimes. But this same broken system is not just in healthcare but other sectors too. What happens if everyone just goes around killing people? It won't work. Chaos.

Healthcare premiums have gone up 200% year over year from December 2023 to December 2024.

In December 2024, the average increase was 3.8%. The inflation reported by INDEC for November 2024 was 2.4%.

Companies in the sector argue that these increases are necessary to guarantee the continuity and quality of the services provided. Additionally, since July 2024, health insurance companies have had the freedom to establish monthly increases in their premiums.

Members are bleeding out with this type of inflation. For the first time, many people are having to drop their private coverage.

These increases must be painful. I am not sure how Milei's approval ratings are so high in the face of all of these increases. My friends in BA tell me it is obscene and 4% monthly increases doesn't sound like inflation is slowing down. This is already on top of huge increases in premiums in the past year.

It's a hard question. I just think of my mom an extremely good person dutifully paying our health insurance every month because "if we get sick we will need it" then when she got sick, insurance abandoned us and made her life a living hell while she had cancer. I have no empathy whatsoever

This is terrible! I am sorry Mick. I am a nurse and I hear so many horror stories. It is crazy but more people I know sympathize with him than condemn him.

In December 2023 it was $177,931 pesos. In December 2024 it was 507,888 pesos. 185+% Year-over-year increase and the cost continues to go up each month.

Wow I thought medical coverage would be cheap here. I guess it is still cheaper than the US but that kind of inflation is alarming! I thought inflation was slowing down. That is a big jump up in one year.

That matches our increases. Very painful. Many people are having to downgrade their plans. A few friends are doing the unthinkable and having to cancel plans altogether which is not desirable.
