Expat Life: Local Discoveries, Global Connections

Other possible towns in Argentina for digital nomad to live that doesn't have issues?

@Jenn yeah mang you're wayyyyy too...needy? to live like an Expat. i would try living in a nearby USA city to get some perspective; these issues are going to be in any significant city in the world. you must have had a really nice and sheltered life to get to this point in your adult life, so either stick to that or embrace discomfort and how 95% of the world lives

6 seconds. I asked a friend there now to walk out her apartment and tell me how long it takes to see dog poop. Only 6 seconds. She said she walked out her apartment in Palermo and she only could make it 6 seconds. Not looking good for me to go there. I secretly told myself if she could go 30 seconds I would consider it.

Thank you! I do love me some KFC. It's still finger licking good. 4300 pesos = $3.50 US yes at the MEP rate? That IS cheap. Ok it's back to a maybe. I don't know whether to say thank you or be mad at you @MickMolloy!
KFC is too greasy. Is other good food cheap there?

Go to the one in the mall off Cordoba and Florida it's so clean and there's guards at each entrance keeping the trash out. The KFC off 9 de Julio and any others avoid
You sound like you LOVE KFC! Who knew BA had so many of them. Do they have a lot of USA chain restaurants?

Jenn what are we going to do with you?? Tell you what, I'll get you some of these right here... added bonus you'll be rocking and walking in style :)

I know you are joking but how would the locals feel if I wore these around. Will they make fun of me? I'm kind of a germ freak and especially paranoid about stepping in poop and tracking my floor with it. Thank you for this. I may buy some and bring them with me to BA. I know people will make fun of me!

@Jenn what's your analysis of the dog poop situation in the videos? watch any other walking tours? (those are less shaky than mine, for sure)
Well I asked many friends that go to BA and my friend now to tease me sends me dog poop videos all day. She is in BA now and sends me videos and photos every day now. I learned to laugh about it now but I don't really know how bad the situation is now. She has sent me dog poop photos/videos in all neighborhoods. :(

The locals are very friendly. Don't worry about it, all they will do is point and laugh at you. That's all :)

The other option is there was a girl in Mexico I believe hired a service for this, here in BA maybe you can do the same.

You are very funny @FuturoBA. Your sense of humor actually makes me want to visit and makes me realize how stupid I sound. I know it may seem silly to people that don't have this fear of smells like I do. Thank you for being so nice to me.

Just having some fun and it's awesome you've been a great sport about it! The fact you return here asking more about BA IMO means you really should go. Better to come and maybe it's not what you hoped, then to regret never coming at all. Either way good luck.

It looks like not only @Jenn coming here. I hope in Buenos Aires they don't have same backlash as other places. I did not know so many digital nomads here. I see this article online today.

I heard about Medellin and some backlash from gringos and also a bunch of murders of gringos looking to hook up. I didn't know that Mexico City had an issue with tourists. I went there earlier this year and didn't notice anything.

i was asking what you thought of the whole concept: that there is dog poop in every decently-sized city around the world. there are also transients and communists. BsAs is no different, so you should ask why your friend is so adamant that there is poop everywhere (there is worse levels in Monserrat, like i said, because there are no parks nearby and very few trees/planters). you won't smell dog poop if you live in any of the areas that earlyretirement suggests.
