President Trump will definitely be a better option vs. Kamala Harris and glad the majority of Americans also believe so. The past several years have been a disaster in the USA.
I’m definitely sure that this is very positive for the country. Milei will likely take advantage of this relationship. Not to mention, the risk of country default has dropped after Trump’s victory, which boosts confidence in the economy. This could attract more investments, strengthen the currency, and improve overall economic expectations.

I could not agree more Mike. President Biden unfortunately made one bad hire after another, which led to a lot of poor legislative and regulatory decisions and in turn drove a lot of the inflation we've all experienced. Harris' actions and statements told voters that little was going to change, and claiming she was going to lower housing prices and grocery bills was not at all believable.

It seems like many people agree. I watched last night and people told me we wouldn't have an answer for days and it would be very close. It is hard to trust the mainstream media after this. Some mates live in the USA, and they say the same thing @CraigM. Even my friends that were lifelong Democrats said they voted for Trump yesterday. I don't know all the ins and outs of the USA political system but everyone tells me that inflation was terrible.
My friend told me something crazy like 79% of Americans were angry with the way the economy was going and direction the USA was headed in. I don't know how Harris could have won if that statistic was true and we saw that yesterday.
I watched some interviews with Harris and it was unbelievable when she said she wouldn't do anything different vs. Biden. With so much AI I thought that was fake. Hard to believe. I am happy Trump won.
I wonder if Trump will keep any of his promises. Most of these politicians promise things and then never deliver. I don't know how much of a difference it makes if Trump won for Argentina. I hope Argentina doesn't get endless billions from IMF again. We already are in trouble with the loans from the IMF from before!
Indeed. That statistic about dissatisfaction with the economy is a perfect example of why so many people distrust the old media outlets - they had all that information for weeks or even months, but buried it until it became clear that Harris had been trounced and they needed someone to blame. They don't report news anymore and have lost so much credibility.

I stopped watching the mainstream news for the most part. Once I moved to Argentina once in a while I do listen as I have Sirius XM and listen to it. It is amazing that I would listen to CNN and then MSNBC and then Fox and each had their own agenda. Either bashing Trump or bashing Harris. I almost only use X now for news.
I thought Elon Musk was crazy for spending $40 billion on Twitter but looking back it seems like that was the price for freedom of speech. I am curious how involved he will be with Trump's administration.
I mailed in my ballot from Buenos Aires for Trump. I was watching Polymarket and figured no way that much money could be betting for Trump and be wrong. But the biggest thing was I kept hearing 75%+ people saying they were angry with the direction the economy has gone in the past 4 years and direction the USA was headed in. Actually I think Trump should have won by more votes with such a miserable statistic.
Now I am anxiously waiting for the Diddy tapes to come out and see how many of those supporters were blackmailed into supporting Harris.

Very strongly agree. The last 4 years were terrible! I don't know how anyone can argue any differently. First time some of my Democrat friends voted for Trump and they did NOT like the guy. Enough wars, enough illegal migrants being allowed in, enough of inflation.
I know Milei has an affinity for Trump but I am not sure if it will matter for Argentina. They are both showmen. They have less in common than people think they do. They are night and day on many issues. I doubt a Trump victory will mean much for Argentina.

My daughter lives in California and said many are depressed there. I don't care one way or the other. Both Trump and Milei sound like two crazy white men.

I don't really understand how Trump can really help Argentina? Sounds like on military matters maybe getting closer. I remember after Milei got elected many military from the USA was coming to Argentina to talk about the South of Argentina. Maybe they can help with the Falkland Island issue?

He can't hurt. Trump is friends with Macri and helped Argentina get $45 billion from the IMF when Macri was President. I am not sure how persuasive Trump can be with the IMF but it can't hurt to have friends like that. Milei is trying to get very close with the USA and even fired their Foreign Minister because she voted with Cuba. It seems like the goal is for Milei to align very closely with the USA.
Even the Amish, who generally stay out of politics, decided to vote, and the fact that they chose a candidate like Trump, who doesn't necessarily align with their way of life but shares some of their conservative values, was a big surprise.
